The owner on your job, start to finish
I come out to look at your job and write the estimate myself, then I run the crew on site through the pour and cleanup. You get quick answers, and nothing gets lost passing between people.

I learned concrete under an old-school boss who made us tear out anything that wasn't right. Tearing out your own work teaches you fast. The lesson that stuck was to take a hard look before the pour instead of making excuses after it, because once concrete sets you don't get a do-over. I started La Porte Concrete Company here in La Porte in 2023 on that rule, and I still run the crew myself and answer my own phone.
Most of our calls come from homeowners, along with property and business owners who need a slab, a foundation or a lot. What we're known for is the part nobody sees, the subgrade, which is the packed ground your slab sits on. When a budget gets tight, that's the first thing people want to cut and the last thing I'd cut, because a nice finish on a soft base will crack and sink with the dirt under it. You can see the work we do across La Porte and the cities around it, and if your city isn't listed, call and ask.
These are the things you'll notice from the first visit to the last of the cleanup.

We dig out and pack the base instead of raking it level, so your slab doesn't settle with loose dirt. We also check where the water runs, because a slab that slopes toward your house sends rain straight at it.
I'll tell you what I'd do and why while we're standing at the job, even when a simpler option makes more sense for you. If that's the kind of answer you want, call (219) 258-7141 or use our contact form.
Every job runs in the same order, and the order is there so nothing gets rushed before the pour.
Call or send a message and we'll reply within one business day, then I come out for a free quote on site with no obligation. The price mostly turns on the size and thickness of the slab, how much digging and base work the ground needs, and how easy it is to get a truck in.
We're licensed and fully insured, and before we dig we check with the office that covers your address. When your job needs a permit or contractor registration we take care of it, so the work doesn't stall halfway through.
We dig out the soft dirt, pack the subgrade solid and set rebar, the steel inside that holds the slab together, where the job calls for it. You won't see any of this on pour day, but it's the part that decides whether the new slab cracks like the old one.
We pick the pour date around the weather and what fresh concrete needs, and we stay out of the midday heat that leaves a weak, dusty top. We cut control joints on time so the slab cracks along grooves we chose, then let it cure, the wait while it hardens, before we clean up and hand it back.
The quote is free and done on site, so you'll know what the ground under your slab needs before you commit to anything, and satisfaction guaranteed.
If you've got a cracked driveway, a sinking patio or a new slab in mind, we're glad to talk it over with you.
